Our " Optical manager" ( what ever that is ) doesn't seem to know the difference between a polarized lens and an AR coating. They are two different things with different purposes.
A polarized lens will eliminate glare from water, cars in front of you, all reflective surfaces, which is great, but that has nothing to do with backside reflections you get on a dark sunglass lens, polarized or not.
An AR coating is ALWAYS recommended on a sunglass lens on the inside ( backside ) . The fact it is polarized won't stop you seeing reflections of your own eye in the lens, but an AR coating will.
AR also has nothing to do with the UV protection , it is NOT part of an AR coating.
The lenses of Oakley's are polycarbonate and provide all the UV protection necessary by the nature of the material...not because they are polarized.
I don't know what color lenses you chose, but the darker they are, the more useful a backside AR coating will be.
