my parents think im lying when i just told them i needed new glasses. my mom was being "serious" and she said that there's something wrong if i need new glasses again. i think she was trying to scare me so i'd stop saying i need new glasses (and i do need glasses). is there something wrong? im not sure if she was serious or not. and how do i improve my vision?
thank you.

well first how old are you?

our eyes don't stop developing and changing until between 18-21 so its very possible for you to need a new prescription every year.

second how do you KNOW you need a new prescription?

did you go to your eye dr? if yes and they told you that you need a new prescription then your mom should have no reason to think you are lying. if you have not gone to your eye dr and you just think your vision is getting blurry then make an appointment to get checked out by the eye dr so you will know for sure if you need a new prescription or not.

third i'm not sure if you realize this but you keep saying you need new GLASSES so maybe your mom thinks you are just making this up cuz you want new frames. if you think your eyes are getting worse then you should say you think you need new lenses and not a whole new pair of glasses.

Between the ages of 10-21 your eyes get progressively weaker so it is possible you need new lenses in your glasses every year. If you are 21 or over then you are less likely to need new lenses.

Your mum is probably concerned due to the money issue of glasses. They are expensive. If your eye doctor says you need new lenses then you need new lenses.

If you are myopic (nearsighted) it is very common to need a stronger prescription every year from about age 10 to 16. Eventually it stabilizes and you will have the same prescription thereafter.

do you mean new frames for like the style? or the lens

and you aren't lieing if your mother jsut takes you down to the eye doctor and he will confirm that for you.
