Is it okay to wear non-prescription reading glasses?

I want some glasses just to wear for costume purposes. The ones I plan on getting are just plain 2 dollar reading glasses. I don't need glasses at all my eyesight is fine. Before I go buy some from a dollar store, I want to know if it's okay. I mean, It won't cause my eye sight to get bad or anything like that will it?

It won't make your vision bad, but you'll definitely notice it to be blurry.



Go to the dollar store or to a store like Claire's or Target and get glasses from there. They make glasses without any kind of prescription, so it won't make your vision blurry. Just make sure they're not reading glasses.

Wearing them won't make you need glasses, if that is what you are worried about. They will interfere with distance vision while wearing them, I suppose you could pop the lenses out & just wear the frames. As someone else mentioned, you can get fake glasses at Claire's and possibly at costume shops.

No Non prescription reading contacts do not exist. If you want your contacts to clear your vision then they MUST have a prescription in them. You can have contact lenses for reading vision, but you will require a fitting appointment with your optician so that they can determine what the strength of the lenses needs to be for your eyes

Wearing or not wearing glasses does not have any permanent effect on your vision.



While you are wearing the glasses, you will be functionally nearsighted. Things close up will be clear, but things far away will be blurry.



If you find yourself squinting to see things far away, you might get tired of that after a while, but it won't cause any permanent harm.

Get the weakest prescription possible. Just try not to wear them too long or you are apt to get a headache.

you can only wear them for reading. if you look long distances in them, it will mess up your eye sight. if you want costume glasses, you can go to a store like claires and they have glasses that dont affect your vision.
