If your vision is at least 20/40 with your eyeglasses, then you should be able to drive. I suggest you ask your eye doctor what your visual acuity is. The DMV will test you at some point.

I would recommend talking to your eye doctor. Your eye doctor will know whether or not you can see well enough to pass the vision test. If your eye doctor thinks that you can pass the vision test you can ask your doctor to fill out a form stating what your vision is. As long as you have that form you want have to take the vision test. I always have to request one from my eye doctor every time my license comes up for renewal because my doctor claims that I can see well enough to pass the vision test but I always have trouble reading the eye chart at the DMV.

I would say this will be up to both your doctor as well as with the dmv and in my opinion I would say that you most likely would not be able to get a license. I have heard of police using Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus Test in a Drunk Driving Cases and the person was arrested so you will have issues.

The test at the DMV is just going to be of your acuity. If you see well enough with your glasses, they will pass you. If not, they won't. If you fail, they will give you a paper to take to your eye doctor. Some people do poorly on the vision test at the DMV because it is done with a "box". Your doctor can certify that you meet the requirement by doing other tests. There are some other issues. If you can't stay in your lane, you should not be driving no matter how well you perform on eye tests. If you do get your licence, you should carry a paper from your eye doctor stating that you have nystagmus. One of the field sobriety tests police officers use has to do with nystagmus and you will fail even if you are completely sober.
