Before I walked out of the practice my pressures were taken. 14 for the right eye & 13 for the left. 4 months ago they were 12 & 11. So I walked out as I am not waiting all day to see allegedly world famous glaucoma Doc. I can't spend all day waiting to be seen. So shall I hurry to find new Doc. or are pressures low enough I can wait a week or month or so?

Knowing your pressures does not tell you anything about your glaucoma and whether it is under control. The pressure needs to be kept low enough to prevent further optic nerve damage, nerve fiber layer loss and field loss. The pressure that preserves your sight is dependent on your individual factors, 14 may be too high for you.

Find a new doctor soon. Treating low tension glaucoma is difficult and may require a glaucoma specialist. There are not many of them and there are lots of patients who need to see them, so waiting may be inevitable.

Um those are normal readings....I get readings just like those all day everyday......maybe I totally misunderstood what your trying to say. Anything over 22 is what you need to be worried about. By the way...tono readings can change in a period of one minute I have done a reading on a patient and it reads 22 OD 20 OS and then a minute laterdo it again and it's 19 OD 17 OS!

****Very Strange considering low pressures are considered 5 and below**** ask them to take Fundus Photos.....that outta be interesting......who put you on meds and what age range are you?

armywife is right. But, if you have been treated for glaucoma, you should get another doctor asap to be on the safe side.

Why you were at the "famous glaucoma doc" should help you.

I think you wanna fire your doctor just because he's Indian, which is not right. I think you're racist. What if he were black? Would you fire him then? Or her, even? I bet if he were Japanese, you'd keep him around, wouldn't you. This racist thing should be over now, since we have an African-American President.

hahahahahaha
