I'm 14 years old and I have been wearing glasses for about two years.

I need my prescription redone & I want to get glasses and CONTACTS.

I really don't know much about contacts and stuff.

But whenever I get my exam tomorrow, like how long will it take to start wearing my contacts for the first time?

and is it possible that i can get contacts from 1800contacts? even if i don't get my eye exam at walmart?

thanks :)

They give you trial lenses and you can start wearing them right away. It takes about a week to really get used to them. If they bother you, you just take them back and the doctor will fit you with a different pair until you've found a type that's comfortable. I've never ordered my contacts from 1800contacts but I'm pretty sure anyone can order from there no matter where the exam was done. Most eye doctors do this as well, you don't really need to have had an exam at that place in order to purchase glasses or contacts from them unless you're using some kind of health program that requires you to.

I was like you too and I can relate to what you are saying. They give you trails at the office and they will teach you how to take them on and off. They will also teach you the dos and donts of contacts. According to my eye doctor and my friends who also wear contact lens too it takes about 1 week to get used to them. And if I were you I would look up a bunch of information about contacts it is really helpful information. When you get your contacts look the name up and see if they have any information that could help you with your contacts. I wish you luck and the appointment would take a long time so dont think about making any plans. And dont be afraid to ask your eye doctor questions about contacts espicailly about the contacts you will recieve tomorrow, it helps you become more cautious about how you take care of these contacts. But contacts are a big responsibility and dont even think about getting rid of your glasses because your contacts can fall out at anytime or they could bother you at anytime and if that happens you still need to see. Good Luck at the appointment tomorrow Hope all goes well :)

Huh, you guys all probably wear soft contact lenses, which feel like jello. Try HARD contacts, now THAT takes time to get used to. Yes, you can wear softies right away, can't imagine it'd take a week to get used to them. That's how long mine take.
