Question:
Does Anyone know why I am unable to see 3D, for example with 3D glasses at Avatar?

Here's the deal, I am totally unable to see 3D. When I went to Avatar with my friends we all wore the same 3D glasses, they all saw images that appeared to come out of the screen towards them, while I saw absolutely nothing out of the ordinary. This has happened to me before with a 3D presentation at my school. Does anyone know what the deal with my eyes is? FYI I had a Strobismus surgery when I was really young. Thanks! -Bryon

You lack what is called stereo vision. It is probably caused from your strabismus.

That's interesting. The way 3D glasses work is each lens shows a slightly different image. Because the difference between what your left and right eye sees is greater for things that are closer, your brain uses this to interpret distances.

Do you have lazy eye by any chance? If your brain is just ignoring the data from one eye, that could screw up 3D vision. Are you colour blind?

The strabismus surgery is the give away. Likely you still have some residual strabismus which prevents seeing 3D.
